GOLF ANALYSIS

Functional Golf Systems (FGS®)

BACK-SWING

Assessing the body's ability to allow the proper joint motion for an effective back-swing (loading phase). I look at specific joint thresholds at the ankles, hips, thoracic spine and entire kinetic chain. Specific spinal movements are assessed for additional core loading capability (core activation).

IMPACT

Assessing the body's ability to allow the proper joint motion for effective impact (performance phase). I look at specific joint thresholds at the ankles, hips, thoracic spine and entire kinetic chain. Specific spinal movements are assessed for additional core control capability (core control).

FOLLOW-THROUGH

Assessing the body's ability to allow the proper joint motion for an effective follow-through (exploding phase). I look at specific joint thresholds at the ankles, hips, thoracic spine and entire kinetic chain. Specific spinal movements are assessed for proximal acceleration capability (core power).

FINISH

Assessing the body's ability to allow the proper joint motion for an effective finish (deceleration phase). I look at specific joint thresholds at the ankles, hips, thoracic spine and entire kinetic chain. Specific spinal movements are assessed for proximal acceleration capability (core function).

Want to increase your club-head speed? Are you experiencing pain or discomfort when playing golf? Do you want to improve your efficiency and performance?

Assess your functional threshold for golf, enhance your three-dimensional joint capacity, improve performance, and reduce the likelihood of injury.

Book your golf analysis to identify threshold limitations throughout the KINETIC chain specific to golf biomechanics. Reducing pain and symptoms, restoring normal function, and improving your efficiency.

GOLFING INJURIES

Movement Rehabilitation Performance

Whether golf is a new interest or a lifelong passion, make the most of your time on the course by protecting yourself from golf injuries. Although golf is a great way to stay active, many golfers must deal with an injury at some point. Golf puts a lot of strain on the muscles, tendons, and joints throughout the body and while sudden injuries like a torn ligament or muscle strain can happen, a high percentage of golfing injuries are caused by repetitive stress and poor biomechanics.

Don’t ignore your pain!

I consider pain to be akin to an indicator light on a car's dashboard, much like the oil or service light. It serves as a signal, alerting us to a potential problem or disruption in the body's usual biomechanical functioning, and can be attributed to a wide range of causes. The challenge lies in the fact that pain is frequently overlooked, and we must recognise that it disrupts our natural movement patterns; it's the body's way of protecting itself. This tendency to neglect pain often leads to compensations, changes in biomechanics, and can compound strain or stress on specific areas of the body.

Getting to the cause

Conventional treatment and rehabilitation methods typically focus on alleviating symptoms and may offer short-term relief or enhancement. However, they often fall short of addressing the underlying root causes. My approach departs from these conventional models, with a focus on crafting strategies and injury plans that reach beyond mere symptom management and compensation. Instead, my goal is to actively tackle the factors that have contributed to the condition.

Functional rehabilitation, in essence, is dedicated to the restoration of regular function.

Form Follows Function

Technique-driven coaching and over cueing can lead to what is often referred to as "Paralysis by Analysis". I work with coaches and athletes to give them an understanding of why proper function (biomechanics) should precede technique or form. I explain why it's more beneficial and show how to tap into the neural system (proprioceptors) by creating authentic task driven movements for improved subconscious reactions, specific to the functional task or sport.

3D MAPS

Improve the way you move!

Explore your complete three-dimensional range of motion and unlock a resilient, functional performance system for continual improvement.

No equipment is necessary; we can focus on practical, real-life functionality and evaluate your body's range and control of motion comprehensively.

By leveraging six essential transformational zones, we can assess motion across the key joint complexes, catering to a wide array of functional activities.

This is the most comprehensive movement assessment for enhancing performance in functional, sport-specific, and performance-based activities.
